Pierpont Oceanfront Neighborhood
Pierpont Bay (Pierpont) is an oceanfront neighborhood that stretches about a mile between San Buenaventura State Beach and Marina Park.
This area came alive back in the early 1920’s, when the marshland was reclaimed and cottages and bungalows were built. This area was for a long time a mish mash of rental dwellings, weekend cottages and vacant lots.
Then, came the real estate booms that transformed this Pierpont area into an eclectic mix of newer larger custom homes. This is not your ordinary tract neighborhood. With Ventura’s moderate temperatures, this Pierpont area is a wonderful place to call home.
Home prices range from $575K to just under $4M and range in size from 780 sq. ft. to a whooping 4970 sq. ft., at least these were the size of homes that were listed and sold in the last 6 months. To see available Pierpont homes for sale, just click on the link…Pierpont homes for sale.
Seaward Village itself is probably one of the few remaining authentic California beach communities that cater to the locals more than the tourists.
It’s actually a few small blocks beginning at Pierpont Blvd and continuing until the road hits the sand. Lot’s of good eateries here but not much else, which is okay since it’s all about kicking back and enjoying the beach.
The newest restaurants to open in Seaward Village is the Sports Tap and the Sushi House.
National Lampoon filmed Endless Bummer here. The movie has some great shots of Seaward Village and is based on the comical and real life story of John Drury and his friends. It takes you back nearly 30 years when the group set out to retrieve John’s precious surfboard stolen at Pierpont Beach. “Dude, that’s messed up”.
At the time of this writing (January 2015) Duke’s is still undergoing renovation and is not open.
