Learn more about Hollywood Beach

Here you will be greeted by expanses of sandy beachfront, and occasional dunes that make Hollywood Beach a very desirable area to live. This beautiful oceanfront area of Oxnard is located between the Channel Islands Harbor and the Pacific Ocean.

Hollywood Beach is made up of a collection of beach homes, townhomes, and condominiums located along Ocean Drive.

Average home values in Hollywood Beach range from $498,000 to $4,950,000.

Hollywood Beach may get its name from the fact that Clark Gable lived here and partied here. Or maybe the reason is that Rudolph Valentino filmed the movie “The Sheik” here, although there seems to be some argument as to where the actual beach scenes were shot.

Here’s what Wikipedia states: “There appears to be some dispute as to where the film was shot. Emily W. Leider in Dark Lover: The Life and Death of Rudolph Valentino argue that the desert exterior scenes were filmed in Oxnard, California, and the Guadalupe Dunes of Santa Barbara County.

However, many contend, and history would seem to bear it out, that filming took place at the Famous Players Astoria Studios in Astoria, Queens, New York, with the exteriors shot at the “Walking Dunes” in East Hampton, Long Island.”

Whatever the origin of the name, the Hollywood Beach area is a spectacular beach with breathtaking views.

The Hollywood Beach area offers many activities that one can enjoy. Surfing, kayaking, excursions to the Channel Islands for whale watching, day trips for deep sea fishing, just to name a few.

There is a real sense of a small time beach community with local restaurants like Mrs. Olson’s Coffee Hut.

Since the 1920s, Hollywood stars have sought refuge at this gorgeous beach. Come see why Hollywood Beach is one of Southern California’s best-kept secrets!

Hollywood Beach is about an hours drive north of Los Angeles or a half-hour south of Santa Barbara, Channel Islands Harbor is home to nine marinas, unique shopping, and great waterfront restaurants!
